Okay ladies, I'm supposed to be doing my first assignment in capstone this semester. I looked over the new and old syllabus and they are virtually the same. It says you have to read the book and get a good understanding of web portfolios. Okay, truth be told I haaate text books and don't really want to read this one......do you all recommend that I read, or can I just look at your old web portfolios and be able to complete my own.
We have a wedding date....Oct. 4, 2008! Set your calendars now for the social event of the midwest! (well, it's my dream at least)

If they are the same, skip the book. Use our links and follow the syllabus to the letter and you will be good. My link is still up and I might still have the email that Shirley Hargis sent that had quite a few listed. I'll send them your way.
I used Homestead.com but it took me awhile to get the hang of it. I think Free Webs might be easier since you are planning a wedding and all!
A fall wedding, how wonderful! You won't have to deal with 100 degree weather.
I agree with Lori Jo. I read the book, well some of it, when I received it and didn't look at it after that. I used freewebs (http://www.freewebs.com/kannwilson/) and it was easy to use. The free version does limit the number of links you can have in the navigational bar to 4 I think. Also the spell check doesn't always work and sometimes when you copy and paste text, you can't reformat the font. However, it is VERY EASY to create a web page with and I was able to deal with it's quirks.
Good luck with capstone.
Congrats on setting a wedding date.

Finally a wedding date! How exciting for you two. Congrats again!!
I also used freewebs and it was a piece of cake to learn. Call if you need any pointers! By the way don't wait to start it when Mirah suggests.....I would have never completed mine if time if I went by her time frame.
